Henry Ford Story
Henry Ford was born in July 1863 and died in April 1947. Ford left home at the age of 16 to take an apprenticeship as a machinist at a shipbuilding firm in Detroit. In 1890, Henry Ford was hired as an engineer for the Detroit Edison Company.
In 1893, his natural talents earned him a promotion to chief engineer. The company sold its first car which was the mode T car on July 23, 1903. Ford become president of the company in 1906.
In 1908, Ford’s company began making the Ford Model T car and went to develop the assembly line mode of production. Henry Ford started using assembly line in his factories in 1913. Because of the assembly line, making new cars would not take as long. By 1914, Ford had sold over 250,000 Model T cars.
